Volkswagen recently changed its logo in a move to modernize and look towards the future. The logo may not be the only major change, though, according to an accidentally published press release from the German automaker. CNBC reports that VW published a press release that was meant to go out on April 29, 2021, but instead went live on March 29, 2021.
This release was a “public declaration of the company’s future-forward investment in e-mobility.” Most notably, the company plans to rename its US operations to “Voltswagen of America.” The release went on to state that “the new name and branding symbolize the highly-charged forward momentum Voltswagen has put in motion, pursuing a goal of moving all people point-to-point with EVs.”
In our review of the ID.4, we referred to it as the “Volts-Wagen.” Hey VW, do you mind sending over that consultation check to the CarBuzz office?
