As the Porsche 911 has developed over the decades, it has become bigger and heavier, and now features more technology than ever before. However, if you prefer your sports cars smaller and simpler, this 1967 911 S Coupe could be a better buy than a brand new one.
This particular 911 S Coupe on Bring A Trailer was first purchased in Germany by an American serviceman who imported it to the U.S. in 1974. It spent its early years in Texas and in the 1990s underwent a comprehensive refurbishment to return it to its original condition. Now looking as good as new, the sports car is being sold with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a German registration card from 1967, and a clean California title.
The listing for the car shows that it is finished in Bahama Yellow and includes front fog lights, yellow-tinted headlights, 15×4.5-inch Fuchs alloy wheels and Continental Eco Plus tires measuring 185/65 at all four corners.
Inside, the 911 S Coupe has been reupholstered with black leatherette with Pepita cloth inserts, charcoal carpeting, and an ivory headliner. There is a special Recaro sport seat for the driver, as well as a Webasto heater, vent windows, a leather-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel and a Blaupunkt radio. The odometer reads 33,000 miles but the car’s true mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a 2.0-liter flat-six that has been rebuilt and is equipped with an aluminum crankcase and dual Weber downdraft carburetors. A five-speed manual transaxle drives the rear wheels. The car has also been fitted with new ventilated disc brakes, Koni shock absorbers, and a rear anti-roll bar.
