The global pandemic hasn’t affected Rolls-Royce’s customers, who helped the BMW Group-owned brand achieve an all-time sales record in the first quarter of the year.
According to the official numbers shared by the British luxury carmaker, they sold 1,380 vehicles from January 1 to March 31, 2021. This represents a 62 percent jump over the previous time period and exceeds the previous record set in 2019, which used to be the highest in their 116-year history.

Rolls-Royce witnessed increased demand in all markets, with the highest growth recorded in the United States, China and the Asia-Pacific region. Besides the popularity of the new generation Ghost sedan and Cullinan luxury SUV, they also delivered bespoke models such as the Koa Phantom and Iridescent Opulence Phantom. Moreover, all 20 units of the Phantom Tempus Collection were shipped to their owners.
“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars made a strong start to 2021, reflected today in our first quarter sales figures, which are the highest in our 116-year history”, said CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos. “With robust order books across our product range, particularly for the new Ghost and Cullinan, sales growing in key markets and Bespoke commissions running at record levels, our business is in excellent shape. We have every reason to be optimistic for the remainder of 2021.”
In other related news, BMW sold 560,543 vehicles in the first quarter of the year, up 36.2 percent, including 37,896 M cars, a 21 percent increase. MINI also recorded a healthy jump of 16.2 percent with 74,683 vehicles sold.
