As a reminder, the 2021 Civic Type R saw a slight price increase for its final model year, now starting at $37,895. The LE is significantly more, priced at $43,995. For that sum, the LE doesn’t receive any additional power from its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. The key changes to the yellow car include a significant weight reduction, tuned dampers, and a tuned steering rack. And remember, it’s rare.
After browsing new Type R LE listings, we’ve found dealerships making them up to nearly $75,000. Gillman Honda of San Antonio wins the prize for the highest markup with a listed selling price of $74,999, while Courtesy Palm Harbor Honda in Florida is not far behind at $74,990. These are not isolated occurrences, as we counted 13 dealerships listing the car at over $60,000.
