Fiat has teamed up with Google to launch special edition versions of the 500 city car, 500L MPV, and 500X crossover.
Named ‘Hey Google’, the new models feature enhanced styling and the tech giant’s virtual assistant that allows owners to check various information about their cars by using their smartphones or a Google Nest Hub.
By saying ‘Hey Google, ask My Fiat to…’, users can remotely interact with their vehicles. For instance, they can check how much fuel is left in the tank, find out where they parked, see if the doors are locked and so on. With the ‘My Fiat Action’, they can also opt for notifications to be sent to their smartphones if the car leaves a preset area or if it’s driven beyond the given limit.
The Hey Google Fiat series comes in a two-tone white and black exterior color finish and has special badges on the wheel arches and a ‘molecule’ design on the B pillars. The interior follows a similar theme.
Available in hatchback and cabriolet body styles, the 500 Hey Google rides on 15-inch alloy wheels and has a 7-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration, six-speaker audio, multi-function steering wheel, matte silver dashboard fascia, and height-adjustable front seats. Besides the special color scheme, it can also be ordered in Blue Italia, Pompeii Grey, Vesuvius Black, Gelato White, or Pastel Grey. Power comes from the 70 HP mild-hybrid unit.
The 500L Hey Google has 16-inch wheels, new seats, matte silver dashboard fascia, 7-inch infotainment system, and manual air-con, and can be ordered with a 95 HP 1.4-liter petrol or a 95 HP 1.3-liter diesel.
The 500X Hey Google adds similar upgrades, as well as rain sensing-wipers and dusk-sensing headlights, rear parking sensors, front armrest, and height-adjustable driver’s seat. Other colors available include the Cinema Black, Moda Grey, Blue Italia, Silver Grey, Gelato White, and Passione Red. The engine lineup comprises of the 120 HP 1.0-liter and 150 HP 1.3-liter gasoline units, and 95 HP 1.3-liter and 130 HP 1.6-liter diesels.
Offered together with the car is a kit that contains a Nest Hub device customized with a special skin, a key cover and a letter that details the steps required to complete the setup.
