Audi says it has optimized the R8 LMS in five areas: aerodynamics, engine characteristics, air conditioning, suspension, and traction control. These things still need a little more refinement though. Audi Sport customer racing teams will see the new car race for the first time later this year. At a price of €429,000 (approximately $505,906 at today’s exchange rates), it’s not cheap, but the increase in price is “still moderate”, and with the car “better suited to amateur racing”, it’s surely worth the cost. Audi also says that you can either order the new technology package for the 2022 season as a complete vehicle or an upgrade kit to retrofit to existing models.
